Why we built Pickets

Pickets was built by Harrison Balding, who has a background in architecture and construction and has previously co-founded technology startups.

Pickets exists because home buyers in Australia routinely make one of the largest financial decisions of their lives after a brief inspection, with no structured way to assess what they are looking at. Pickets gives buyers a guided, knowledgeable inspection process tailored to the property type, so they can walk through a home and actually know what to look at, what to question, and what to take seriously.

Buyer-side, always

Pickets is built for buyers only. We do not sell access, leads, or data to real estate agents, vendors, property managers, or anyone with a commercial interest in the properties you inspect. Your observations, addresses, and personal information stay yours. This commitment is foundational, not a marketing line.

What Pickets is and is not

Pickets is an inspection assistance tool. It helps you observe and record what you can see during an open home, and turns that into a structured record you can use to make a clear-headed decision. It does not replace a professional building and pest inspection, which you should always commission before making an offer on a property.
